Common questions
Do outdoor structures need permits?
Many do, depending on size and your city. We'll tell you what your project requires during the estimate.
How long does it take to build?
It depends on the size, the materials, and whether a permit is needed. Your written quote includes a completion date before any work starts, and we back that date with a $100-per-day credit.
What affects the cost of an outdoor project?
The biggest factors are materials (wood or composite decking, wood or aluminum patio covers), how high the structure sits and the footings it needs, electrical for lights or fans, and permits or HOA approval. We suggest keeping about 5–10% of your quote set aside for anything found in the ground. Nothing extra happens without your written OK.
Wood or composite decking?
Wood costs less up front. Composite costs more but needs far less upkeep: no sanding, staining, or sealing. We'll walk you through both at the estimate.
